Human Landscape ─ Building Community-Creativity & Creative Community-Building have been unveiled in April, 2009. After the prelude in April and June, we now proudly present “WBNR#8: Hong Kong- from Objective Map to Subjective Mapping”.

Italian artist Alessandro Carboni started his research on Kai Tak River and Nga Tsin Wai Village since May this year. He is delighted to share the fruits of his research with the public. As an extended inquiry, Carboni will also participate in the research project “Kai Tak River – Green Art” (title tentative), and exhibit his research project with other artists in the local mega art event October Contemporary.

Taking up the cross-disciplinary roles – an urban researcher, a media artist, a theorist and a software programmer – Carboni combines his artistic talents with his technical competencies. The exhibition will be the eighth platform after touring different cities from Europe to Asia. It is a site specific project, which studies the disappearing urban spaces in Hong Kong- Kai Tak River, Kowloon Walled City and To Kwa Wan. The project reflects the renewed recognition that space matters to cutting edge practices on urban and body transformation. By using the knowledge in both choreography and new media art, this project and its exhibition contribute to the articulation of a powerful concept/tool that links critical theory and ethical practice.
